Outside an old stable building, MacLennan set fire to a suite of domestic furniture – a sofa, chairs, bed, wardrobe, cabinets. These were then arranged in the the stables’ interior, their blackened remains standing out starkly against a ‘carpet’ of white flour. MacLennan – dressed in black, with his face and head covered by a balaclava – drew shoes, gloves, fruit and other homely objects in a border on the white brick walls.
